Obituary for Maxine Bell (Edwards)
Maxine Edwards Bell was born on July 16, 1948 in New Orleans, LA to the late Frances Edwards. She departed this life on November 30, 2017 at Chateau St. James, Lutcher, LA, surrounded by family and friends. She was a resident of LaPlace, LA. Maxine was the loving wife of the late Rev. Charles Bell, mother of Kanion and Kasimere Edwards, grandmother of Malyah and Gabrielle Edwards and Toyin Bailey. She also leaves to cherish her memories, three brothers, Walter(Amy), Arthur(Mary) and Antione(Clara) Edwards, and sister Frances(James)Edwards; aunt Agnes(Earl)Johnson; three godchildren, Sara Johnson and Anthony Gauthier and Martin Sylvain; devoted friend and caregiver, Cherry(Clarence)West, devoted friend, Edna Jean(Michael)Sylvain, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by husband Rev. Charles Bell, mother Frances Edwards and sister Mary Ann Champagne.
Maxine was a graduate of Second Ward High School Class of 1966 and a retired employee of St. John the Baptist Parish School System. Family and friends would like to express their gratitude to everyone who has shown love and support during this difficult time. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2361 Highway 18, Edgard, LA at 11:00am. Father Robustiano Morgia, Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until service time. Interment in the church cemetery. Treasures of Life Funeral Services have been entrusted with her final care.
