Emily Scott (Zeno)
On the night of April 24, 2018 at approximately 10:00pm at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA, God gently released Sister Emily Z. Scott’s soul to eternal rest to live with Him forever more. Paraphrasing her patented phrase, “she cashed her ticket”. Emily resided in Lutcher, LA for over 50 years. She was born to the late Amos and Mary Ezidore Zeno on August 17, 1935 in Wallace, LA. She was the fourth of four children. She attended Colonial Elementary School in Gramercy, LA and graduated from Cypress Grove High School in 1954. Later she attended and graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge with a B.A., Masters and plus 30 in education. She began teaching at Cypress Grove from where she retired after over 33 years. She was married to the late George Scott and from that union one son, Brandon George Scott was born. She was a housewife, homemaker, educator, baker, shopper, good devoted friend and most of all dedicated to “Daddy George” and Brandon. She leaves to mourn one son, Brandon, a sister Melba Z. “Bee” Anderson and three grandsons, Jaris, Londres and Quinn. She also leaves two devoted nephews, Thomas A. Price(Thelma) and Percy I. Zeno, Jr. (Sharon), niece Quinetta M. Zeno, great niece, Renee D. Price, great nephew, Justin M. Zeno, sister-in-law Jacqueline Zeno and her beloved best friends and “traveling buddies”, Ms. Emma Clark and Ms. Cleo Eugene, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband George Scott, her father Amos Zeno, her mother Mary R. Ezidore, a sister Lola Mae Zeno, a brother Percy I. Zeno, Sr. and nephew Gregory W. Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from King David Baptist Church, 2329 N. King St., Lutcher, LA for 10:00am. Viewing begins at 8:00am with final viewing prior to service time. Rev. Ferdinand Wallace, Jr. Pastor and Officiant. Entombment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina, LA. Repast to follow at King Solomon Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 2385 N. Courseault St. Lutcher, LA. Final care entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA.
