Louis "Coach"  Holloway Jr.
"LOUIS HOLLOWAY, JR. (Coach Holloway)"
Louis Holloway, Ir., was born to the Late Lizzie Williams and the Late Louis Holloway, Sr. on March 23, 1943 in Garyville, La. On Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Ochsner Hospital, Kenner, La, Louis was called to his Heavenly Home.
On March 21, 1981 Louis was united in holy matrimony to Wanda Eugene. To this union was one daughter, Zakiya Holloway. Louis also has one Son, Darren Mitchell, Sr. and reard Charonika Wilkens and Lemey Ross.
Louis was reared here in Garyville, where he attended public schools here in St. John the Baptist Parish, graduated from Fifth Ward High in 1961. He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA where he received his Bachelor Degree in education and then further his education by receiving is Master's Degree. He was employed by St. John Parish School Board for over 50 years, as a Coach at East St. John High School until his retirement. Coach Holloway had a great impact in our community and the lives of our children.
Louis accepted Christ as his saviour later on in Life. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Wanda Holloway, one daughter, Zakiya Holloway, one son, Darren (Taleka) Mitchell, Charonika Wilkens and Lemey Ross; one Brother, Charles Holloway, Sr. 4 Sisters, Diane (Rickie) Perrilloux Victoria (Dwayne) Fleming, Eula Williams and Marie Williams, 4 granchildren, Darren Mitchell, Jr., Nicholas Mitchell, Destiny Esko, and Kayliv Parquet; In-Laws, Diane, Patricia, Stanley Hawkins, Vanessa (Kevin) Robertson, Sharoit, Bryan, and Charles Eugene; Devoted Friends, Alex Mils, Ir., Lester Simon and Andrea Wilkens, a host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Holloway, Sr., Mother, Lizzie Williams, Brothers, Clarence Holloway, Robert Holloway, his grandparents, Victoria Sullivan, Eddie Williams, Harriet and Mike Valentine, In-Laws, Elaine Holloway, Karen Washington, Ruby Lee Hawkins, Debra Smith and Charley Erytenie.
A Celebration of Coach Holloway’s life will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from Mont Zion #1 Baptist Church, 144 Little Hope St. Garyville La., Rev. Kent B. Fredericks officiating. Following a private burial.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, August 3,2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Treasures of Life.
