Obituary for Daniel Bethancourt Jr.

On Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at Kaiser Hospital, Daniel Bethancourt, Jr, 67, of Vallejo, CA, took his wings and transitioned to his eternal resting place.

Daniel Bethancourt, Jr was born in New Orleans, La to the late Daniel and Margarite Bethancourt on November 13, 1951. He was the second child born to this union. He was the oldest of seven (7) brothers. He was baptized at an early age by the Late Rev. W. Grant at Woodville Baptist Church. Daniel Jr graduated from Edgar High School in 1969 and later attended Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, La.

Daniel Jr was formerly married to Edna Bethancourt Harris and through this union was born four daughters – Kristele, Danielle, Krashanya, and Dajuan. He also has a fifth daughter – Danquell. Daniel Jr was the brother of Janis Freeman, Debbie Rollins, Debra(deceased), Grayling, Jonathan, Errol, Cecil, Jamison, and Reginald Bethancourt.

Daniel Jr worked in the financial business for many years. He would eventually open 2 Allstate Insurance Agencies in California where recently retired from in 2017.

Daniel Jr is survived by Five (5) daughters – Kristele Bethancourt-Johnson (Dennis Sr) of Humble, TX, Danielle Bethancourt of Hiram, GA, Krashanya Bethancourt of Humble, TX, Dajuan Bethancourt-Forstall(Randall III) of Humble, TX and Danquell Bethancourt of Richmond, CA.

Nine (9) grandchildren – Dennis(DeeJay) Johnson Jr, Dammion Green, Denim Johnson, Tony McAdoo, Randall Forstall IV, Ta’Niyla Miller, Tamoni Miller, Drew Carrington Johnson, and Rylie Karter Forstall.
Companion - Dorothy Prescott and Family (Angie, Tony, and Paulrishia)
Two (2) sisters - Debbie (Allee) Rollins, Janis (Ronald) Freeman
Six (6) brothers – Grayling (Demetria). Errol (Shelia), Jonathan (Cleona), Jamison, Reginald (Kay) and Cecil (Darlene).
And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and TONS of FRIENDS!!!

A Memorial Service will be held 4:00pm – 8:00pm Monday, June 10, 2019 at Wilson & Kratzer Civic Center Chapel 455 24th Street Richmond, CA 94804.

Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Greater Woodville Baptist Church 133 West 9th Street, Wallace, La 70090. Rev. Marc Allen Nelson, Sr of Greater Woodville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery. Final care has been entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services 315 E. Airline Hwy Gramercy, La 70052.
