Adonis Simms, a compassionate soul whose heart knew no bounds, left us on August 23, 2026. Born on June 12, 2001, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Adonis was a radiant light whose warmth, kindness, and love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Known affectionately as “BabyGirl” by family and friends, she was a generous spirit whose ambition, talent, and infectious smile brightened every room she entered.
Adonis had a deep passion for music, which was woven into the fabric of her life. She found joy, comfort, and connection through its melodies. Music was one of the many ways she expressed her vibrant personality and uplifting spirit. Adonis also shared a deep connection with God. She truly believed in his word and practiced loving others as Christ loves us all.
Equally remarkable was Adonis' dedication to helping others. She possessed a selfless heart and a genuine desire to give back to her community and support those less fortunate. She believed in kindness without conditions and was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or share what she had with someone in need. Her generosity and compassion left a lasting impact on countless lives and reflected the beautiful character she carried every day.
More than any accomplishment, it was Adonis' immeasurable capacity to love, her unwavering strength in the face of adversity, and her enduring optimism that defined her.
Adonis started her career with Huntington Ingalls in 2021. During her tenure she joined the Electrical Apprenticeship Program and in December 2026 Adonis will earn her Electrical Apprenticeship.
Adonis was a beloved daughter to LaKeisa Simms and Dudley Fuqua, a cherished sister to Alexis Simms and Dominick Simms. She is also survived by her Grandfather Keith Simms and Aunt (Honorary Grandmother) Lynise Henry Vance. She was preceded in death by her cherished grandmothers, Lisa Henry Simms and Catherine Fuqua, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Though Adonis' light has dimmed in this world, its glow remains forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Her legacy of love, kindness, service, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew her. We invite family and friends to share cherished memories and photographs on her memorial page as we celebrate her life, honor her beautiful spirit, and keep her memory alive for generations to come.
