Allen Milton

On January 2, 2024, our beloved, ALLEN “TOT” MILTON, was called home to his Lord AND Savior. Allen was born on March 12, 1948 to BENNY and ALMA LEWIS MILTON. He was baptized May 13, 1979 at Second African Baptist Church by the late Reverend Joseph T. Bailey.

On October 13, 1973, he married the love of his life, Odeal Pierce. From this union, 4 beautiful daughters were born: SHELLEY JANEEN (Baby Girl), MITZI MONIQUE (Duck), COURTNEY ELIZABETH (Gleek), and SHERRIE JANELLE (Weezie). Allen & Odeal were married for 50 LOVING years!

Allen was a loving husband, devoted father, and passionate grandfather. He was loved and respected by the neighborhood kids and you would often find them hanging out with him in the backyard. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and SAINTS fan. He was blessed with a melodious voice. Every building he entered, people expected to hear him sing. He was a member/lead singer of Second African Baptist Church’s Male Chorus,
Senior Choir, and Gospel Inspirations of Boutte. He loved to sing for the Lord!!

He leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life, Odeal Pierce Milton; mother, Betty Milton Russell; his devoted daughters, Shelley Milton (Reginald), Mitzi Milton-Armant (Ron), Courtney Milton Robinson (Garland) and Sherrie Milton-Shepherd (Keith); grandchildren, Tre’Von Jasmine, A’mere Oubre, Raymiain Johnson, Kadance Shepherd, Christian Milton, and Kyra’Lyn Shepherd; devoted niece and nephew, Desiree Pierce Lewis and Gerard Brown; brothers, Arthur Allen, Terrance Bailey, and David Harris; uncle, Wilbert Milton, Sr; aunt, Dorothy Lewis; brothers-in-law, Alcus Pierce, Sr (Linda) and Lawrence Pierce (Gwinette); sisters-in-law, Claudia Burke, Celina Haydel, Augustine Brown (Ronnie), and Dolores Armant (Charles); bonus daughters, LaTonya and Shannon Rybiskie; Godchildren, Reginald Lewis, Kira Jackson, Monique Roussell, Jamar Favorite, Reginald Sayles, and DeJonelle Toney; devoted friends, Herman Bailey, Jr, Robert Lumar,
Larry Favorite, Lester Rhea, Junius Howard, Tremaine Hall, and Nelson Louis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Benny Milton; mother, Alma Milton; brothers, Robert Lewis, Gregory Milton and Benny Washington; in-laws, Alexander and Alodia Poche Pierce; brothers-in-law, Thomas Pierce, Sr, Rufus Pierce, and Royal Burke, Sr; uncles, Calvin Milton, Freddie Milton, Clifford Milton, Cloffer Lewis, Albert Lewis, Richmond Lewis, Clarence Lewis, and Raymond Lewis; aunts, Leontine Lewis, Leana Bradley, Cora
Grows, Mary Gordon, Zilda Thomas and Corinne Lewis; nephews, Michael Haydel, Thomas Pierce, Jr., and Darrell Pierce.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 East Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052 from 5PM-7PM.

A celebration of life honoring Allen "Tot" Milton will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Second African Baptist Church, 136 West 3rd St., Edgard, LA 70049. Visitation will be held from 9AM-11AM. Service will begin at 11AM. Reverend Clarence Z. Mollaire, Sr., officiant. Interment to follow at Woodville Cemetery in Wallace, LA. Final care and professional services entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services.
