Amari Sanilia "Mari" Jones Obituary (2002 - 2023)

Amari Sanilia Jones, daughter of Deshaun Alexander-Farria and the late Steven Jones, passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2023, at the young age of 20. She was born on September 9, 2002, and raised in Reserve, La alongside her brother Tramond McQuater Jr. She attended East Saint John High School and graduated with honors in the year 2020. After high school, she pursued a career in cosmetology and attended Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute in New Orleans for a year. She was very creative and aspired to be an Esthetician. She had a passion for making people feel better and brightening their day. She loved poetry and journaling, Amari enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be forever cherished by her mother, Deshaun Alexander-Farria (Audry); Brother, Tramond McQuater Jr; Maternal great-grandmother, Consuelo S. Vappie Alexander; maternal grandmother: Marvell Alexander (Duvaldo); Paternal grandmother: Ella Mae Jones; Uncles: Kyron Breaux, Travis Edwards, Auther Jones Jr; Aunts: Kristen and Kirsten Dunn, Sabrina Ernest, Sandy Edwards, Keva; Godmother: Lazira Perrilloux Daniels (Timothy); Godfather: Humberto Alexander ( Michelle); Maternal great aunts: Aida Delery Elsayed, Nada and Joann Alexander; Maternal great uncles: Benjamin III, Demitoris and Humberto Alexander; and a host of relatives and friends. A celebration of life honoring Amari Sanilia Jones will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052.
