Augustine B. Woodard Obituary (1934 - 2025)

Augustine B. Woodard departed this life on December 12th at the age of 91. She was the beloved daughter of August and Mary Boutte. Teen as she was commonly called was born on September 3, 1934 in New Orleans LA. Teen was educated through the New Orleans public school system, where she graduated from McDonald 35 senior high school. Later in life Teen accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, now St. Katherine Drexel. Augustine met and married Edward Woodard Jr. and to that union four children were born. She worked at Baptist Memorial for many years until Hurricane Katrina forced her into retirement. Being retired allowed Augie to magnify her love for BINGO. At the sound of music you would always find her snapping her fingers and dancing. Augustine was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings; Raymond, Edna, August and Mildred. Three of her children; Kendall, Edwin and June Michele. She leaves to mourn, her husband Edward, her daughter Trudy, her grandchildren; Alecia, Edwin, Lamar, Tori, Toreaun, Quinton, Giovanni, Kiana and Casey. A host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, cousins, family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church (formerly Holy Ghost Catholic Church), 2015 Louisiana Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115; visitation 9am to 10am followed by Mass for 10am.
