BERTHA EUGENE COSEY (EUGENE) Obituary (1928 - 2016)

Bertha Eugene Cosey entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the age of 88. She is survived by her husband of 70 yrs. Edward James Cosey, Jr. Mother of Debra Cosey Muskwe (Aaron) and Madelyn Cosey Sanchez; Sister of Delores Robertson, Beaulah Triplett(Leonard), Stanley(Geraldine), Alexander, Charles III(Rhonda) and Larry Eugene(Quincetta). She also leaves granddaughters Ashley Nichelle Sanchez, Whitley Dudzai Muskwe and Madelyn Shongai Muskwe; great granddaughter Jessica Shongai Muskwe and a sister-in-law Elvira Cosey. Also special friend and employer Earl and Dr. Janet Higgins along with their children Sean, Matthew, and Christian Higgins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents Mary Lee Jones and Charles Eugene, Sr., and brothers Edward and Charles II, Eugene; brothers-in law Harrison, William, John, Thomas Cosey , and Andrew Robertson and Sisters-in-law Lucille, Mary, Izora Cosey and Mercedes Eugene. Relatives, friends, pastors, officers and members of First House of Prayer, Baptist Church., Word of Life, Baptist Church, Maywood, IL, Social Security Administration, City of New Orleans, Office of Community Development, Railroad Board, Chase Products, and State Farm Insurance are invited to a Celebration the Life at First House of Prayer, Baptist Church, 2826 LaSalle Street, New Orleans, La on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. followed by her home going service at 10a.m. Pastor George Guidry Officiating. Interment Garden of Memories, Metairie, La.
