In Loving Memory of Beulah Diane Charles
With heavy hearts, we honor the life and legacy of Beulah Diane Charles. She gained her wings and transitioned on February 22, 2025 with her family and friends by her side. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Diane was born to the late Ernest Pye Sr. and Lillie Mae Pye on December 15, 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the first born of her siblings ; Lillie Mae Pye, Joyce Jasmin, Janice Ferchaud, Sheryl Pye , Aresia Henderson, Edith Cunningham and her brother, Ernest Pye Jr.
In her early life she was a student at Burton Lane Elementary and reunited with her siblings at the age of twelve. She was baptized in the Mississippi River and later became a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church. Diane was married to the late Romalis Charles. Through that union, they had two children Shawn Hovis (the late Curtis Hovis Sr.) Bennie Epps; Rene Charles Hester (the late Edward Hester Sr.) Toren Washington Sr.
A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Beulah touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. Throughout her career, Diane exemplified hard work, commitment, and resilience. She served as an operator at St. James Sugar Co-op. Her dedication extended to public service as a United States Postal Service employee in St. James, Louisiana. In addition, she brought her strong work ethic to the retail sector as a stock clerk at a grocery store. Diane’s professional journey was a testament to her dedication, reliability, and the pride she took in her work. Her contributions will be remembered with gratitude and admiration.
Diane enjoyed being with the senior citizens and bingo was her thing! More than just a game, it was a source of connection, laughter, and excitement. She looked forward to fellowshipping with the senior citizens where she would gather with friends, exchange warm conversations, and relish the thrill of marking her numbers, hoping for that winning call. Her presence was a source of strength and comfort to those who knew her.
She lived with grace, compassion, and a deep dedication to her family and community. As we say goodbye, we take solace in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the love she so freely gave. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
Beulah Diane Charles, you are deeply missed and forever loved. May you rest in peace love ♥️
