Byron Anthony (Bobbie) Smith Sr. transitioned from earth to his heavenly home on Monday, August 9, 2021, at the age of 62. He was born on December 4,1958, to Mildred Smith and the late Alzeria Valentine Jr. Byron was a 1977 graduate of Second Ward High School and 1981 graduate of Grambling State University. He was Employed by GNOTS Reserve Inc. as a Repair Dock Foreman. He is Preceded in death by his son, Byron Anthony Smith Jr. (BJ); father, Alzeria Valentine Jr., and sister, Deyon Benjamin. Byron leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Valerie Lewis Smith; mother, Mildred Smith; sisters, Debra (Bernard) Howard and Bonnie (Kevin) Grows; brothers, Ricky Sr. and Glenn Sr. (Cindy) Valentine; daughter, Teommi (David) Davenport; step-daughter Haili (DeShune) Harris Sr.; grandchildren, Jarrien and Ava Smith, Gia Metz, DeShune Jr., Nylan and Da'Nyrie Harris, Ayden Williams, and J'Kyren Morris; daughter-in-law, Felicia Smith; nieces, Asantra (Rev. Clarence) Mollaire Sr., Rayon Smith (Hasan), Amber Howard and Janiah Jones; nephews; Damond Smith, Levar and Laron Goudia, and Trevor Smith; great nephew, Emmette Boudreaux III; great nieces, Kerrione Williams and Zuri Goudia; devoted uncle, Shelton (Brenda) Valentine Sr; devoted friends Gregory Joseph, Jerome Lumar, and Thomas Bailey; devoted cousins Christina Barnes and Trina Smith. Funeral Services for our beloved Byron Smith Sr. will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 152 East 6th Street, Edgard, LA 70049. Visitation period from 9am-11am.
