Hahnville, Louisiana
It is with a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Carl Anthony Gauthier, Sr., affectionately known as "Knuckle" to those who loved him. Born in New Orleans on November 22, 1956, Carl lived a life defined by love, loyalty, compassion, and reliability. His roots were planted in Louisiana, and he was a proud resident of Hahnville, where he was known for his unwavering commitment to family, friends, and his faith.
Carl was a devout Catholic who served on The Usher Board at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. His faith was a guiding force in his life, and he lived by the verse from the book of Matthew, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Carl was a successful entrepreneur in the Industrial Supplies and Distribution sector, with his latest venture, Kreole Kup, being a source of immense pride. He had an unquenchable zest for life, and his hobbies reflected this. Whether it was spending quality time with his family, working up a sweat exercising, enjoying Motown music, or cheering at sporting events, Carl was continually soaking up the joy of life.
He is survived by his children Carl Jr. (Jare), Sharonne Gauthier Clay (Byron), Ana, Maya Gauthier Batiste (Jordan), and Byron (Emily); his siblings, Shawn, Joey, and Jomeika; and his son Damon Lewis (Jonique). His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, his children's partners, and the many lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nadine, his parents Joseph and Lucille, and his brothers, Tyrone and Byron.
