Carla was born on September 11, 1962 to the union of Gloria Paul Smith and the late Joseph Paul. She was reared by her step dad Edward Smith. She was formerly married to Richard Steib Sr. and from this union two children were born; Richard Steib Jr. (Alisa) of Darrow, LA and Cailah Steib of Vacherie, LA. Carla was very high spirited and outgoing, she was a go-getter. She loved styling hair so she became a cosmetologist. She loved decorating and shopping for bargains. If the sign said SALE she bought it. If she couldn't use or wear it she would give it to someone. She also loved fancy clothes, odd Jewelry, dancing and gardening. Most of all she loved her two children who stood by her side until the end. Along with her surviving children she leaves to cherish her memories; beloved mother and step-father, Gloria Paul and Edward Smith of St. James; two sisters, Anita (Craig) Duronslet of Vacherie, LA and April Mitchell of St. James, LA; one brother, Kermit (Delisa) Paul of Prairieville, LA; five nieces, Jolaia Rodrigue, Ariel Mitchell, Anika Duronslet, Rayna and Tionah Paul; four nephews, Craig Duronslet Jr., Leo Mitchell III, Alex and Elon Paul; one great niece; three great nephews; ten god children and a host of other relatives and friends. Carla was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Paul; brother, Joseph Paul Jr; maternal grandparents, Adam Sr. and Enzerbell Southerland; paternal grandparents, Raymond Sr. and Pasty Paul; aunt, Enzerbell Lumar.
