Carold Arvie

–

Gonzales, Louisiana

For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Timothy 4:6,7
Brother Carold Arvie, age (82), a native of Ville Platte, Louisiana, and resident of Laplace, Louisiana, and Gonzales, Louisiana, was born on June 3, 1942, to the late Simon Arvie and the late Octicia Arvie. He was baptized at an early age in Ville Platte, Louisiana. He married the love of his life, Yvonne Daggs Arvie, and she remained his loving wife for the duration of her life. He worked at Avondale Shipyard and Brown & Root as a welder and pipefitter. Then, he followed his passion and found what he loved and became his own boss at Arvie Landscaping Services. He loved working as a landscaper for over twenty years and retired from his own company in 2015. He often employed members of his family to help them along. For this and for his kindness, guidance, and leadership, he was admired and loved by many. He was also known as “Big Chief” and would create elaborate costumes for Mardi Gras. He loved Mardi Gras and was a member and mascot of the Krewe of Ghana in Thibodaux, Louisiana, for over twenty years. He also got the chance to served as the king of the Krewe of Ghana. He also owned three horses (Twister, Frisco, and Sally) who he trained. He also farmed and raised animals. His kids wanted for nothing and were well provided for. He was a very loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who worked so hard to make sure his family wanted for nothing.
