Catherine Rainey Johnson of New Orleans, age 87, transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015. Daughterof the late Silas and Somoria W. Rainey, of Edgard. Wife of the late Elihugh Johnson. Mother of Vanessa Rainey, Kevin Johnson (Jennifer), Lisa Hall (Charles), Kelley Johnson, and Stacey Johnson. Grandmother of Ricky Cy LaGrange, Alika Garza, Ashley and Ariel Hall, Kaylyn Johnson, Jarren and Jeron Duplantier. Great-grandmother of Jaxon Garza. Sister of Arthur Rainey, Rosalie Allen, Lance Rainey (Barbara), Lester Rainey (Betty), Gloria Bethancourt (Felmon), Brenda Burke (Morgan), and Patricia Montgomery, and the late Silas, Jr., Paul and Wallace Rainey and Dianne R. Vinnett. Sister-in-law of Patricia Robertson, Cynthia, Audrey, and Anna Rainey. Godmother of Brenda R. Burke and Harriett Tate. Devoted friend of Orelia J. Wright. Also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
