Charles “Pumpkinseed” Williams, 73, of Greensboro, NC, peacefully passed away on August 23, 2023. He was born on June 15, 1950, to the late Velma Williams and Charles Jackson in the picturesque city of New Orleans, LA. Charles also has multiple siblings including: Heria (Donna) Williams, Alvin (Alisha) Williams, Terry (Terrie) Williams, Hubert (Wanda) Williams, Eldred (Connie) Williams, Veronica (Tyrone) Johnson, Sheila Williams, Vernita Williams, Herman Williams, and Marva Franklin.\n\nCharles was a loving and caring husband, father, friend and loved one. He met the love of his life in June of 1993, and they were married 10 years later on March 29, 2003. Charles and Katherine were married for over 20 years.\n\nHe is survived by his adoring wife: Katherine Williams; cherished daughters: Keon (Juan) Joseph and Skylar Wright; and devoted son: Dalton Johnson. Additionally, Charles will be remembered by his step-daughters: Crystal (Richard Wilkens) Butler, Sybil Butler, and Carissa (Joseph) Morgan; grandchildren: Jaeda, Ty’real and Tyree Johnson, Juan Joseph, Jr., Jai Williams, JaiMylon Joseph, Sean Jackson, Christopher Butler, Re’Ale Wilkens, Johnell Nicholas, Johnathan Fogg, and Camryn Morgan; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.\n\nBeloved family members that preceded Charles in death are his sisters: Vernita Williams and Marva. Franklin; and brother: Herman Williams.\n\nCharles owned a bar, The Peppermint, in New Orleans, LA for many years. After ownership of the bar, he began working in construction. In 1998, he moved to Raleigh, NC where he began working at Peace College as a Public Safety Officer. He was known for his infectious smile and made all of the students and faculty feel safe all around campus. He left Peace College and began a peaceful life with his wife in 2013.\n\nWhenever he was around, Charles loved to make people smile and ensured that they had a good time. He had multiple friends in North Carolina who loved him and always asked about him when he was not around. When you spoke to Charles, you could always expect his bright response of “alright” when he acknowledged you. Charles will be missed by all of his family and friends.\n\nA public walk-through visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052 from 3PM-5PM.\n\nA Celebration of Life honoring Charles will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at King David Baptist Church, 2329 N. King Ave, Lutcher, LA 70071. Visitation 9AM-11AM. Service will begin at 11AM. Final care and professional services entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services.
