Mrs. Clara Hilda Williams Gaudet, affectionately known as "Cla", passed away peacefully on July 1, 2021 at the age of 90. She was born on July 14, 1930 to late Joseph Williams and Agnes Adams of Edgard, LA. Early in her adult life she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized by the late Rev J.J. Harper (then Pastor) of Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member under the leadership of Rev Vernon Alexander (current Pastor of Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church). She served faithfully as a member of the Deaconess Board and as a member of the Woodville Benevolent Society.\n\nShe was united in holy matrimony to Emile Gaudet, Jr. in April 29,1949. This union was blessed with twelve children. Clara was dedicated to the love and care of her family. She sewed fashionable outfits for her children and always encouraged them to follow their dreams. Clara was passionate about reading her bible daily and praying for her family, her church family and her community. She was never idle and enjoyed solving word search puzzles. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her children and grandchildren and their families, especially holiday gatherings.\n\nPreceding her in death are her parents, Joseph and Agnes Williams; brothers, Alvin Williams (Felicia) and Dallas (Beverly) Williams; sister, Marion Williams Jacob (Alexander); sons, Moriel (Suzanne) Gaudet, Ronald (Glenda) Gaudet and daughter Patricia Gaudet Fox. Also proceeding her in death are her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Gordan (Samuel), Verna Bush (Raymond), Augustine Turnage (Steve), Audrey Scott (Pierre), Lizzy Burgess, Almateen Goudia and brothers-in-law, Louis Goudia (Yvonne), Royal Gaudia (Ophelia), Charles Goudin and Roussel Gaudet.\n\nHer beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Charlouise Levi (Walter, deceased) of Avondale, LA, Gail Gaudet Watson (Will) of Harvey, LA, Harold Gaudet (Betty) of Avondale, LA, Cheryl Gaudet of Edgard, LA, Roselyn Gaudet McKay (Rozzel) of Detroit, MI, Spencer Gaudet (Joan) of Stone Mountain, GA, Kirk Gaudet of Edgard, LA, Crystal Gaudet Magee (Ronald) of Hahnville, LA, and Ivan Gaudet (Shaquanna) of Ellenwood, GA., along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.\n\nA celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Greater St. Peter Baptist Church, 200 W 3rd Street, Edgard, LA 70049. Visitation period will be from 10am-11am. Service at 11am. Interment to follow at Young Cemetery (also down W 3rd Street).
