Clementine Grows

–

Vacherie, Louisiana

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:6-8

Clementine Grows entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the age of 85. Our Lord and personal Savior dispatched His angels to carry Clementine to her heavenly home, where she was reunited with her husband, Melvin Grows, Sr.

Clementine accepted her wings and flew away from this place to her heavenly home. As she laid in her bed, she humbly called on Jesus, continuously in prayer saying, "Fix it Jesus, fix it." Yes she was ready to see her Master's face. As family members and friends were praying for a miracle, Clementine was resting in her presence, speaking into existence Roman 8:18; "I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to me." Her request to God was granted and her last breath was taken.

Clementine accepted Christ at a very early age and was baptized by the late Rev. J.J. Harper at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church in Edgard, LA. One of her favorite pastimes was to simply surround herself with family and friends. She enjoyed God's precious creation; laughing, joking, eating, dancing, cooking, making her goos ole short bread, talking on the phone, riding to the store, fussing, and telling people what's on her mind.

Clementine leaves to cherish her precious memories four children: Ileen, Kevin, and Raymond Grows of Wallace, LA, and Herbert Grows (Carla) of Killeen, Tx; 3 sisters: Isabelle Poche of Wallace, LA, and Dorothy Glapion and Geraldine Gray of New Orleans, LA; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 daughters-in-law: Gia Lewis and Sharon Grows; 3 devoted friends: Judy Young, Robin Lumar, and Doretha Harris; 4 Godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Eugene and Lorenza Poche; husband: Melvin Grows, Sr.; siblings: Celeste P. Oubre, Catherine P. Theard, Camille, Lorenza, Roy, Curtis, Clement, Eugene, and Harold Poche; sons: Melvin Jr. and Nelson Grows; and grandson: Jordae Grows.
