Clement Gray III

–

LaPlace, Louisiana

Clement Gray III, age 66 of Laplace, LA departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest on Thursday June 8, 2023, at Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner, LA. Clement was born on August 21,1956, to the late Clement Gray Jr. and Irma Charles Gray at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. He was a lifelong resident of Laplace, LA.

Clement was the brother of the late Melvin Charles, Warren Gray, Joann Gray, Deborah Gray Bourgeois, and Peggy Gray Creecy. Clement was educated in the St. John the Baptist Public Schools. He graduated from Leon Godchaux High Class of 1976. He went on to be a US Navy Seal. Clement worked for St. John the Baptist Public Schools for 15 plus years as a Custodian at Fifth Ward Elementary and Laplace Elementary before retiring. He went onto working for VJ Rollo Security as a Security Guard until he was called home.

He will be sorely missed by his nieces and nephews; Ciaravella Charles, Mary Ann Gray, Errolynn Bourgeois, Brandon Creecy, Merisa-Ann Bourgeois, Deion Bourgeois, D’Arcy Bourgeois, Austin Creecy, Davone Bourgeois, and Davare Bourgeois. He was proceeded in death by his nephews Darryl and Drew Bourgeois.

He was very devoted to and loved a host of great nieces and nephews, but Charlie (Alena) and Hollywood (Audrina) were like the children he never had. The had the kind of relationship where he meant the world to them. He was their uncle, father figure, friend, Uber Driver and their personal bank. Every time he got paid he would say “I have to go see what my Charlie and Hollywood need.” They will really miss their UNCLE CLEM.

Clement was the life of the party. If you needed laughter, he had the jokes for you. If you needed music, he was coming with all the old blues songs. If you needed a ride, he was known as the Yellow Taxi, Uber, or Lyft, and sometimes we would thought of him as Hotard because he would drive up and down the highways. His hours were normally 6am to 12am. On any given day around 9:30pm he could be found at a store getting his Pick 3 and Pick 4 numbers; he never missed getting those numbers, and if he couldn’t get them he would send someone else in his place.

Clement was well known by many and will be truly missed...We love you UNCLE CLEMENT!
