Cleveland Clayton Lumar of Edgard, La entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the age of 83. Beloved husband for 61 years to Shirley Louis Lumar. Father of Albert Lumar of Edgard, La and Shelia L. Jack (Jude) of Vacherie, La. Brother of Adrian Lumar, Jr(Florence) and Orelia Harris of Edgard, La. Grandfather of Anitra J. Becnel, Julie Jack, Damien, Jamari and Blake Lumar, 4 great grandchildren, 1 brother-n-law, 2 godchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lifetime friends with Leonard Butler, Sr. and Earl Johnson. He was a former employee of Caire and Graugnard Sugar Refinery in Edgard, La for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his children Cleveland, Jr. and Judy Lumar; parents Elizabeth and Adrian Lumar, Sr. (Pearl Lumar, stepmom); parents-n-law Marie and James Louis, Sr.; brothers Fonaries , Sterling, Curtis Lumar, Alice White, 3 brother-n-laws and 6 sister-n-laws. Neighboring communities and churches of Edgard are invited to join with the family for a gathering of friends and family on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Treasures of Life Center for Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy. , Gramercy, La 70052 followed by a Celebration of Life service on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church, 200 W. 3rd St., Edgard, La.,Rev. Vernon Alexander officiant. Visitation begins for 8:00 A.M. followed by 10:00 service. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery.
