David Pierre, Sr.

–

Luling, Louisiana

The life of David” Joe Bully” Pierre Sr.

My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am John 14;2-3 (NIV)

David Pierre Sr. was called home to glory on August 9, 2026. Born on September 15, 1956, to the late Roy Philip Pierre Sr. and late Isabelle Kelly Haydel; David began a life filled with love, family, hard work, and cherished memories. He was a native of Edgard, “Lucy,” Louisiana, where he spent many years before later relocating to his home in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

David found his greatest joy in spending time with his children, family, and friends. He loved playing spades and dominoes, dancing, laughing, and simply enjoying life. David was also known for always being sharply dressed. Wherever he went, he carried himself with confidence and style.

During his early years, David attended Lucy Elementary School and later graduated from Second Ward High School in 1977. Following graduation, he began building a long and dedicated career in the industrial field. He worked at Waterford 3 in Taft, Louisiana, as well as Dow Chemical. He later continued his career as a painter with CITGO & Brock in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where his experience and strong work ethic led him to serve as a Painter Foreman Lead before his retirement.

David was raised in a loving Christian home, where he accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Greater Woodville Baptist Church by Reverend Nelson and continued to carry his faith with him throughout his life. David sought to serve God not only through his words, but through the love he shared with others, the values he instilled in his children, and the kindness he extended to those around him.

David leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children: Jamar Bailey, along with his wife, Lakaii Bailey, and children, Jemoine Green, Jayden Bailey, Journi Bailey, and Jamari Bailey; David Pierre Jr.; Darby Kristen Anderson, along with her husband and children, Kolby Anderson, Dailen Pierre Young, Karson Anderson, and Aspen Anderson; Dalton Pierre; and Alaja Renee Pierre. He also leaves to cherish his memory his great-grandchild, Jazie Green.

David is also survived by his siblings: Debra (Glenn)Barre, Sabrina Ursin, Rochelle (Thomas) Clark, Marcelette (Ivory) Simon, Roy (Carmen) Pierre, Benjamin (Katie) Pierre Sr., Kermit (Clara) Pierre, and Anthony (Kanzaida) Pierre; as well as Cindy (Jomekia) Williams, who was like a sister to him. He is also survived by his Aunt Barbara Dorsey, Uncle Vernon McCarthy, and godchild Latari Poche.

He will be lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his presence.

David was preceded in death by his late parents, Isabelle Kelly Haydel and Roy Philip Pierre Sr., his late brother Alvin Mitchell and a host of beloved grandparents and loved ones who went before him.

Throughout his life, David brought great joy to those around him. He was a loving and protective presence in the lives of those around him and was greatly admired by many. His humor, strength, style, and love for his family will remain a lasting part of the memories shared by all who loved him.

As his family celebrates his life and holds close the memories he leaves behind, they find comfort in the promise of God’s Word:

Revelation 21:4 (KJV)
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
