The beautiful Delores Weber-Poplous, referred to as "Mama Dee" was born on February 25, 1945 in Killona, Louisiana to the late Pearl & Lee Weber. She spent the majority of her life in New Orleans, Louisiana with her huge family that included four sisters: Olivia Taylor, Ida Mae Dunn, Bernice Champagne, Brenda Weber and five brothers: Willie Weber, Sonny Weber, Joe Louis Weber, Curtis Weber, Gerald Daniels. \n\nShe gave her life to Christ at Mt. Zion No.2 Baptist Church in Garyville, Louisiana where Wesley Anderson Jr. is presiding Pastor. Mama Dee was united in holy matrimony to Lester Augustine Jr. Their union of love produced one son: Lester Augustine III. \n\nDelores later married Fritz Poplous where they had four beautiful children: Robin Augustine, Cassandra, Nicole and Ronnie Poplous. Delores worked at K&B drug store in Louisiana at the age of 18. She relocated to Chicago in 1968 where she worked at St. Augustine Hospital as a nurse aid working with disabled children. Mama Dee loved cooking. Her favorite dish was her infamous gumbo. I'm sure everyone she came across enjoyed that. \n\nIf you knew her, you knew she didn't go anywhere without her DVD's or DVD player. She had any movie you could think of! Mama Dee loved to dance and listen to her old school blues, but most importantly, she was the glue that kept her family together. Delores departed this life at Kindred Hospital on July 15, 2020 at the age of 75.\n\nA walk through viewing will be held at Treasures of Life Funeral Services 315 E.
