Destiny Scott

Destiny Traondae Scott, a resident of Gramercy, LA was born on July 2, 1992, at Lakeside Hospital in Metairie, LA. Destiny was the beautiful, precious daughter of the late Tracy D. Scott Fleming, the witty daughter of Jesse Mahoney, and the vivacious bonus daughter of Ronald and Robin Raphael.

Destiny was baptized at Antioch Community Baptist Church by the late Rev. Ferdinand Gaines, Jr. She was a dedicated member of the Youth Ministry. She excitedly attended and participated in Sunday School, Worship Service, and many church activities and events.

Destiny was educated in the St. James Parish School System. She was a graduate of Lutcher High School's Class of 2011. She later joined the Jaguar Nation and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. At the time of her death, Destiny was employed as a Medical Assistant at Our Lady of the Lake Ophthalmology Center in Baton Rouge, LA.

Destiny is survived by her father, Jesse Mahoney; stepfather, Donald Fleming, Sr.; bonus parents, Ronald and Robin Raphael; brothers, Donald Fleming, Jr. and Toren Jackson; sister, Jordyn Mahoney; aunts, Charnell and Kristi Scott, Vernell Taylor, Sandra Mahoney, Jeanette Mahoney-Parks (Rev. Marvin Parks), Martha Branch, Loretta Belvin, Carolyn Graves (Robert), and Edna Anderson; uncles, Ferrel, Sandy and Dana Scott, Isaac and Carl (Tammy) Mahoney, and Rev. Dale Branch (Deola); Godparents, Jennifer Wilridge, Carlette Brown, Arlyn J. Jackson, and Sheila W. Jackson, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Tracy D. Scott Fleming; grandparents, Ferrel and Marion Scott, Sr., and Isaac and Mary C. Mahoney; aunts, Deanne Scott and Laura Lee; uncles, Eddie, Charles, Taylor, and Don Gary Mahoney; special friend, Tyvon Clark; and Godparents, Shelby Wilridge, Vernon Lee, Sr. and Lottie Howard.

A Celebration of Life honoring our beautiful covergirl Destiny T. Scott will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at First Community Antioch Baptist Church, 10860 LA-3125, Lutcher, LA 70071. Visitation 9AM-11AM. Service will begin at 11AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Paulina. Final care and professional services entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052.
