DuSharne Stewart

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

DuSharne Anthony Stewart, affectionally known as “Chippa”, “DStew”, was born on August 6, 1989, to Shelley Faye Octave and Glenn Darren Stewart. He departed his life on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. He was 37 years old. DuSharne was a native of Wallace, LA and a resident of Prairieville, LA.

He graduated from St. James High School in 2008 and SCL Technical College in 2014. DuSharne was employed by E.I. Dupont since January 12, 2015. He was affectionally know to his co-workers as "#1”, “Hellcat”, "Pool", and “River Snake”. He was a Synthesis CCR and Field Operator. He also served as the Synthesis shutdown coordinator on a couple of occasions and a member of the Fire brigade Team.

DuSharne was a husband, son, nephew, brother, friend, and mentor. He poured love into everyone he met; nurturing their spirits, offering wisdom as a role model. DuSharne enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, making plenty mess in the family group, popping up on everyone snapping pictures, drag racing at the racetrack, and riding his four wheeler.

He was united in holy matrimony to Alyssia Ross Stewart on November 22, 2025. They were the loving parents of their fur baby, Beau Stewart.

DuSharne leaves to cherish his memories; his mother: Shelley Faye Octave, father: Glenn Darren Stewart, bonus mother; Erika Howard Stewart, bonus father; Duane Gauff. His siblings, Shaea Eackles(Ledell), Shiaa Thomas, Stefphone Williams, Gionne Burke, Benjamin Stewart, and Zachary Stewart.

Nieces and Nephews: Saige Williams, DaiJah Burham, Dallys Burham, Kaden Williams, Milan Martin, and Sincere Williams. Aunts: Seimon Octave, Demetria Stewart, Michelle Coleman, Arlene (Herman) Williby, Nadia Octave, Nikea(Shane) Washington,Charlene D. Williams, Nashiya (Ronald) Young, and Anya Trench. Uncles: Thaddeus and Shane Octave, Kareem (Tia) Octave, Kavis Octave, Askia (Tamara) Octave, Tonta (Latasha) Octave Sr., Troy Stewart, and Gregory Stewart.

God Parents: Charetia Mumphrey and Hilton Armant. Devoted Great Aunt: Lorraine Mitchell. God Children: Dallys Burham, Rhylan Joseph, Denver Young, Dyson Paul, Kenley Weber, Harlyn Mayho, Blair Whittington, Charles Nailor III, and Zuri Pierce. Devoted friends: Donovan Paul and Leroy “Doc” Johnson. He also cherished his host of Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, family and friends; especially his 309 gang.

DuSharne is preceded in death by his loving wife; Alyssia Ross Stewart, Maternal Grandparents Ronald Sr. and Claudette Octave, Paternal Grandparents Benjamin Sr. and Doris Butler Stewart, Uncles: Ronald Octave Jr., Darwin Jude Octave, and Benjamin Stewart Jr.

DuSharne’s Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 8969 Hwy 18, St. James, LA 70086; visitation: 9:00AM to 12:00PM followed by the service for 12:00PM. Interment St. Philip Catholic Church Cemetery.
