Edward "Joey" August, Jr. peacefully transitioned from this earthly world on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Passages Sanctuary Hospice House in New Orleans, LA. Beloved husband of 38 years to Flora Mae Oubre- August. Son of the late Edward August, Sr. and Janette Isaac August. Loving father of Etoyea "Toi" August and Etonio "Tony" August; two grandchildren , A'Sha MaeShal August and Chen'Ya MaeShal Keller. Beloved brother of Harry "Busta"(Anna) August, Eloise August Moll, Mary Etta August(Nelson) Alexander, Rozena "Lula" August (Leandry) Salvant , Jane "Snooka" August and Tammy August (Charles, Sr. deceased) Fisher. "Joey" is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and lifelong friends. A native of Edgard, LA and a resident of Destrehan, La for 30 years. Family and friends as well as the neighboring communities of the river parishes are invited to attend the celebration of life at First Assembly of God Church, 3001 New Highway 51, Laplace, LA on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Visitation begins at 8:00 AM followed by service at 10:00 AM. Entombment will take place in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, LA.
