With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Ernestine Morris. She was a woman of warmth, strength and joy. Family and church were the center of Ernestine’s world.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Ernestine Morris peacefully entered eternal rest. Born on August 31, 1950, to the late Ernest Morris and Julia McClip Morris, she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, was baptized, and faithfully served as a member and usher of True Light Baptist Church.

Ernestine was a resident of Garyville, Louisiana. She was educated in St. John the Baptist Parish School System. She spent many years employed in the laundry department at Hickory Heights Nursing Home and Twin Oaks Nursing Home and later worked as a Custodian in St. John the Baptist Parish School System.

She was a faithful member and usher of True Light Baptist Church. Ernestine was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her three beloved children, Lashanda Nevers(Roddy), Rachel Byers(Levi Jr.), and Kendall Morris; seven grandchildren, Lakeisha James, Roddyell Nevers, J’Kai Nevers, Ieisha Williams, Za’Nai Byers, Levi Byers III, Zakirah Byers; six treasured great- grandchildren; Her devoted sister Janet Boldene, her brother Eldridge Morris; Victoria Fleming, Eula Williams, Dianne Willams, Marie Williams and Terry Evans; a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Morris and Julia McClip Morris; her son, Charles Eugene, her grandson Emon Eugene; her brother, Edward P. Morris; her sisters Olivia Woods and Barbara Ann Hills; and her niece Lakia Tonelle Boldene.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052 on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 5PM to 7PM. Ernestine's Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at True Light Baptist Church, 258 Little Hope St., Garyville, LA 70051; visitation from 10AM to 12PM followed by the service for 12PM. Interment St. John Memorial Gardens, 2205 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace, LA 70068.
