Faye Elaine Hooker (Etienne) Obituary (1949 - 2023)

Faye Etienne Hooker, a retired teacher of 33 years, departed this life on Sunday, March 5, 2023, surrounded by her children, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and youngest sister. She leaves to cherish, one daughter, Veda G. Hooker, one son, Oliver Hooker, Jr (Joy), and five grandchildren, Jarrius, Jarriah, Jarriel, Kennedy and Jamaul. Her memories will also be cherished by her siblings, Mary (Pleasant) Stewart, Rita Johnson, Linda Rixner, Mildred M. Etienne, August Etienne (Catherine) and Vondra Steib (Richard) two sisters-in-law, Darlene Hooker (Harry) and Gertrude Hooker (William) and brother-in-law, Thomas Joseph, Jr. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and co-workers and devoted caretakers, Nina Joseph, Leona Gibson, and Elizabeth Gant. A public walk-through visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 4pm - 6pm at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70090. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church 1244 Magnolia Heights St, Vacherie, LA 70090 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Johnnie Magee, officiating. Entombment: St. Phillip Catholic Church Mausoleum Hwy. 18, Vacherie, LA 70090. Final care and professional services entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services.
