Felix Winchester Obituary (1921 - 2022)

Felix Joseph Winchester Jr., affectionately known as Buster, passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on June 18, 2022. He was a native of St. James, LA and resident of New Orleans. He was born on July 19, 1921 in St. James, LA to the union of the late, Felix, Sr. and Isabella Gregoire Winchester. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Felix was the husband of the late Theresa Boutin Winchester. Together they had 7 sons and 1 daughter. He retired as Chief Engineer at Le Pavillon Hotel in New Orleans after 28 years. Felix is survived by sons, Felix III (Thelma), David, Duvelle, Jeffery (Dimitri), Duane, Terrell, and Clyde (Richell) Winchester, and a daughter, Shelita Winchester, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Celestine of St. James, LA and brother, Elmo Winchester of California, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church, 6613 Highway 18, St. James, LA 70086. The viewing will be from 8 am until 10 am. Services will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Covid-19 guidelines still apply for mask wearing.
