Gail Mae Taylor, 59, a resident of Prairieville and native of St. James, departed from this life on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Baton Rouge General Hospital, surrounded by family. Baptized by Rev. Charles Geason, Gail loved serving on the Usher Board, which she faithfully did for many years. Gail had a great passion for cooking and attending to her family. She enjoyed sitting outside, looking after her grandkids while drinking coffee. Gail is survived by her husband, James Taylor Sr., children, Erica (Darren)Anderson, James Jr., Jessica and Christian Taylor of St. James, La, Shona(Thomas) Hurst of Greensburg, La.; 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; Siblings, Brenda Smith, Jaqueline, Gloria, and Zena Simon of Donaldsonville, La, Gracie Dumas, Samantha, Clifton, Rose Simon of St. James, La., and Lester (Andrea) Simon of Prairieville, La. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Everda and August Simon, daughters Jamie and Keisha Taylor, sisters Linda, Alice and Danielle and brother Stonewall Dennis Jr. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Mount Bethel Baptist Church, 6234 Burton Lane, St. James, La. at 12pm.
