LULING, Louisiana
In God's own way , for His own purpose and His own time, He reached down in our midst on Friday, November 11, 2022, to call our beloved one to the land that is free from sorrow, pain, and trouble, to the land where there is no more tears, no sighs, and no worries.
Grant Christopher Steib was born to the union of the late Benoit Sr. and Alice Gros Steib, on October 3, 1957. God blessed this union with four children.
Grant was a graduate of St. James High School's class of 1975. After graduation, for several years, he was employed with OXY Chem and Cajun Insulation. Grant left his position at Cajun Insulation and became employed with Zachry Industrial until his death.
He was a member of the Good Children Society in Vacherie, LA. He attended Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie, LA, and St. Anthony Padua Catholic Church in Luling, LA.
As a child, his parents instilled many values to include always being kind to others, working hard for the things you want in life, helping those in need, but most importantly, putting God first.
Grant was a very caring and compassionate person, and to many he was a father figure. He always put others ahead of his own needs. He enjoyed preparing the soil to plant his vegetables, often sending pictures to his sisters to admire. He said this was relaxing for him. One talent of his was to remember everyone's birthday. No calendar needed. Tell him only once and wait for a text or phone call on that day. This talent was also to include family death anniversaries.
Grant leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Angelina Polly Steib; daughters: Christina Steib, Talika Howard, and Tenesha Shepherd; stepchildren: Tina and Yolanda Polly, and Cardaniel Chopin; sisters: Cassandra (Anthony) Bailey and Vanessa (Percy) Gasery; brother: Benoit Joseph Steib, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Benoit Joseph Steib Sr. and Alice Gros Steib; nephew: Rashaud Benoit Steib; and niece: LaDonica Gordon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 13281 LA-644, Vacherie, LA 70090. Visitation beginning at 8am. Recitation of Rosary at 9am.
