Harold Ferdinand, Sr. a native of New Orleans, LA, passed on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the age of 76. He was the son of the late Oscar, Sr. and Eleanor Ferdinand. Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Lucinda Clark Ferdinand, son Harold Ferdinand Jr. and foster son Thamus Jenkins, Sr. (Joneisha). Harold will be sorely missed by his mother-in-law, Pearl Clark, sisters-in Law: Patricia Dickerson (James), Vickie Taylor; as well as brother-in-law, Roy Clark Jr., great nephew, Thamus Jenkins, Jr., a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. He also leaves to cherish his memory six brothers: Oscar (Gloria), Charles, Ronald (Lisa), Garry, Kenneth, Lionel (Connie). He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lawrence, Floyd, Leonard, and sisters, Gwendolyn, Brenda and Freda. Harold attended St. Monica Catholic School and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. He served in the US Army for six years (1967 - 1973). Harold worked at the Louisiana Institute and New Orleans Home of Rehabilitation Center. His recreational time was spent playing dominos, riding bicycles, swimming, and shooting pool but his favorite pastime was visiting the Race Track. Harold was greatly loved and respected by his family, friends and acquaintances. He was a joy to be around and will be missed by all. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 30,2018 for 10:00am from St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 2015 Louisiana Ave, New Orleans, LA. Visitation begins at 8:00am. Msgr.
