Harvel "Gus" Landreaux was born August 28, 1944 and departed this life at home on Friday, November 13, 2020. Harvel was one of five children born to Hillary and Wilberine "Chinie" Rybiskie Landreaux, Sr. A native of Vacherie, LA, Harvel graduated from Magnolia High School in 1962. He also served in the United States Army, and was later employed by Avondale Shipyard as a Shipfitter for forty years. Harvey also was a dedicated fisherman and hunter.\n\nHe leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife of 48 years, Patricia Raphael Landreaux, one sister Aremenenta L. Christopher, three brothers Raymond (Vera), Hillary Jr., and Carroll (Catherine) Landreaux, five brothers-in-law Herdle, Illinois (Claudette), Leroy (Marvel), Leonard (Clairita), Ronald (Robin) Raphael and two sisters in-law Joyce (Andrew) Celestin and Carolyn Raphael.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents Hillary and Wilberine Landreaux, Sr., his father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Archange "Dawn" Raphael, Sr., two brothers-in-law Herman Christopher and Lynn Raphael and two sisters-in-law Doris Landreaux and Dianne Raphael.\n\nFamily and friends are invited to a public walk-through viewing on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, 5-7pm at Treasures of Life Center 315 E. Airline Hwy Gramercy, La 70052. A Private Mass of Christian Burial for family will be held Thursday, November 19, 2020 at St. Phillip Catholic Church at 11am.
