Jada Batiste

On July 13, 2023, a “Golden Heart” stop beating as Jada Lashawn Taylor of LaPlace, LA, transitioned to her heavenly home.  She was the daughter of the late Raymond Taylor, Jr. and Mary Lee Traveler.  Jada was baptized by the late Reverend James Gordon on August 6, 1978, at Greater King David Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Lutcher High School Class of 1984. Jada began her work career at the age of 19 years old. She served as a Plant Operator for 37 years with Denka (formerly DuPont).

Jada was an extraordinary person with a generous spirit, a huge heart, and she was full of empathy and compassion. Jada never met a stranger.  Anyone who was blessed to come in contact with her knew that her love had no bounds. She was an amazing mother, sister, friend, confidant, an anointed singer, vocal coach, choir director, and caterer.

Jada leaves to cherish, three beautiful daughters Jarielle Taylor, Leonca Batiste, and Jerrianna Lewis, five grandchildren Jalise Taylor, Tyrus II, Tyree, Jiya, and Jada Morris, one nephew Kyron Carr, one niece Ka’ja Carr, aunts Mayola Traveler Beverly, Janice Batiste, and Acquanita Ezidore, one uncle Lionel (Ruth) Wright, five god-children Nadia Taylor, Keondra Johnson, Kason Duncan, Shaleah Ferrygood, and Christopher Anderson, and a host of other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Taylor, Sr., and Mary Lee Traveler, one brother Raymond Taylor, Jr., maternal grandparents John and Clementine Traveler, paternal grandparents Joseph Taylor, Sr. and Ezora and Eddie Ezidore, one niece Kylie Carr, uncles Alvin, Walter Sr., and Issac, Therial Ezidore, Joseph Taylor, Jr., aunts Pearly, and Carol Traveler, and Toni Jean Robertson.

All neighboring communities and churches are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life at Victorious Life Family Worship Center, 8896 Richmond Drive LaPlace, LA 70068, on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 10 am. Visitation is from 8 am to 10 am. Final care and professional services are entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Highway, Gramercy, LA 70052.
