Jeanne Hobson

Jeanne Aucoin Hobson, born on December 24, 1950, entered eternal rest on July 15, 2026.

A proud native of Vacherie, Louisiana, Jeanne graduated from the Academy of Sacred Heart in 1968 before earning her degree from Loyola University in 1972. In 1978, she moved to San Diego, California, where she met the love of her life, her "sweetie," Peter Hobson. The two were married in 1988 and built a life together filled with love and companionship. In 2007, Jeanne and Peter returned to her hometown of Vacherie, where they enjoyed being close to family.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter Hobson; her parents, Felix and Winnie Aucoin; her brothers, Edsel Aucoin, Van Aucoin, Ken Aucoin, and Paul Aucoin; and her sisters-in-law, Connie Aucoin and Rita Aucoin.

She is survived by her brothers, Leonard Aucoin (Karla) and Ralph Aucoin (Keiren); her sisters-in-law, Heidi Aucoin, D'Anne Aucoin, and Thayer Esquirol; and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom will cherish her memory.

Jeanne is lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will remain her enduring legacy. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Jeanne's life will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie, Louisiana. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service.
