Joseph Paul "Big Joe" Fiffie Sr.

Joseph Paul Fiffie, Sr. was born on June 22, 1931. He departed this life on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 89 years old. Loving husband of Elouise Alexander Fiffie for 66 years. Father of JoAnn Fiffie Proctor and the late Joseph Paul Fiffie, Jr. Grandfather of Tai Fiffie Boyle (Jarvin), Aletrus, Ahzric, and Ashton Proctor. Great-grandfather of Kamryn Fiffie-Knighten and Jari Boyle. Father-in-law of Vanessa Butler Fiffie. Also survived by godchildren, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents Felix and Honorine Miller Fiffie and brothers Edwin and Raymond Fiffie.

Joseph was a diligent worker from Avondale Shipyard to Kaiser Aluminum until his retirement in 1993. He was an active member of The Knights of Peter Clavier, Mayflower Benevolent Society, The Ebony Gents and The Young Soldiers.
The family would like to thank the following places for the excellent care that Joseph received. Chateau St. James, St. James Parish Hospital, Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, and Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner.

Family and friends are invited to a public viewing on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 5-7p.m at Treasures of Life Center 315 E. Airline Hwy Gramercy, La 70052. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie at 12p.m. Interment at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery. Final care entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy, Gramercy, LA 70052.
