Joseph David Moore

–

LaPlace, Louisiana

Joseph David Moore, affectionately known as Joe Mo, was born to the union of Spurgeon Moore Jr. (Roswitha Moore) and the late Claudia Z Moore on January 6, 1965. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Vacherie, Louisiana. Joseph was a member of First Baptist Church and regularly attended services with his mother.

Joseph was educated in the public school system of St. James Parish. He is a graduate of St. James High School (Class of 1983). He is also an Alumnus of Southern University, as well as a member of the Air Force National Guard. For over 30+ years, Joseph was gainfully employed at CF Industries. He held the position of shift supervisor.

Joseph loved life, and his heart showed in everything he did. He was a devoted son, a trusted and loyal cousin, and a friend. In June 1992, Joseph became a father to a beautiful baby girl named Anitress Jahnae Vaughn. He cherished his family and being a dad. Joseph joined Aliceson Miller in holy matrimony in October 1995. The two were happily married for 30 years and resided in LaPlace, Louisiana. This union was blessed with Justin Michael and Amyre’ Jai’Lyn Moore. Joseph was promoted to grandfather in March 2016 with the birth of Malanie Aleya Moore.

Joseph was a man who possessed many hobbies of which included cooking, attending family functions, and learning the lyrics to music. He had a love for all things sports: be it coaching little league teams, playing softball, watching Saints football, or taking in a Pelicans basketball game. When his schedule afforded him the opportunity, he enjoyed traveling.

He was not really big on words, but his smile beamed from ear to ear, warming every corner of the room he entered. Joseph truly had a heart of gold and could be heard always remarking, “Yeah, yeah, yeah” and asking everyone, “Are you ok? You need anything?”. Joseph was always there when needed and ready to fill in the gap for his family and friends.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, heavenly angels were dispatched to bring Joseph David Moore home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He entered eternal life at 60 years old.
