Colonel Pierre Jr. was born on September 25, 1954. He gained everlasting peace on February 20, 2021. He was the first son born to the union of the late Colonel Pierre Jr. and Vivian Lumar Pierre. Colonel, also known as Skunk, was educated in the St. John the Baptist Parish School system, where he attended Second Ward High. Upon graduating in 1972, he went on to join the United States military, becoming a member of the Navy, where he served until 1975.\n\nColonel was a man of simple pleasures, taking joy in the small things in life. He enjoyed cooking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons, who he affectionately called Big G and Baby G.\n\nColonel leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Lakeya (Coray) Smith; grandsons, Kylin & Kadyn Smith; sisters, Sarah (Steven) Haynes, Mona Ellison, and Cindy (Reggie)Phillips; brothers, David and Alvin Pierre; aunts, Loretta Brignac, Lydia Lumar, and Norma Pierre; uncle, Stanley Pierre, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Colonel Sr. & Vivian Pierre; sisters Cathy Pierre & Sheila Pierre Barre, and niece Heather Pierre.\n\nA public walk-through visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E Airline Hwy, Gramercy, LA 70052 from 4pm-6pm.\n\nA mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2349 LA 18, Edgard, LA 70049 at 10am. Rosary will begin at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery.
