Leo Felix "Ghost" Levy Jr. Obituary (1944 - 2021)

Psalm 90:16-17 Leo Felix Levy, Jr. "Ghost/Brother" was born, February 26, 1944, to Leo Felix Levy, Sr., and Ruby Lefort Levy. He was born and raised in Donaldsonville, Louisiana and was a resident of Saint James, Louisiana for more than 50 years. He peacefully departed his earthly home, September 16, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by family. "Ghost" attended Saint Catherine School and Lowery High School. He worked for many years at Avondale Shipyard and later Cooper/T. Smith Stevedoring, before retiring with 30 years of service. On December 26, 1970, Leo was joined in Holy Matrimony with Jacquelyn Ferchaud and to this union, three children were born: Leo Felix Levy, III, Ashley Tremayne Levy and Lan Levy- Jarvis. Leo was very active within his community and a faithful parishioner of Saint Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church. He was a great cook, specializing in "Cowboy Beans", he loved to fish, was a skilled welder, mechanic and loved helping others work on boats and other "projects" involving motors. "Ghost" opened his home to all and was a father figure to anyone he encountered, especially his children's closest friends. "Ghost" was an exceptional man, there was absolutely nothing he couldn't "fix". He leaves to cherish his fondest memories to his three children: Leo Felix Levy, III (Felisha), Ashley Tremayne Levy (Karmyn), both of Geismar, Louisiana and Lan Levy- Jarvis (Ian) of Prairieville, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren: YatzMyne Levy, Ashton Levy, Eryn B. Levy, Aaron R. Levy, Alayna Ellis, Aspen Levy, Taylor Jarvis, Tyler Jarvis, Ashley Levy, II, Logan Jarvis and Kariel Jarvis; siblings: Lydia Levy- Washington of Dixon, California, Louie Ann Levy Hall (Stephen) of Donaldsonville, Louisiana and Nadine Levy Stewart (Ronald) of Vallejo, California; brothers-in-law: Alex Ferchaud, Sr. (Lois) of Vacherie, Louisiana,and Rodger Lester Ferchaud (Stephanie) of Saint James, Louisiana; sisters-in-law: Elaine Ferchaud Grant (Alfred, Jr.) of Saint James, Louisiana and Dr. Vanessa A. Ferchaud of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Godchildren: Yolanda Levy and Ibiomi Pye; devoted friends: James "Tom" Smith and Warren Thomas and a host of other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Leo was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jacquelyn Ferchaud Levy; father, Leo Felix Levy, Sr.; mother, Ruby Lefort Levy; brother, Arthur James Levy; nephews, Jimmy Dawson and Arthur Baker; mother and father-in-law, Beverly Braud Ferchaud and John Alex Ferchaud, Sr. and brother-in-law, John Alex Ferchaud, Jr. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 412 St. Patrick St., Donaldsonville, LA 70346. Visitation from 9am-11am. Recitation of Rosary at 10am. Service will begin at 11am. Interment to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church Cemetery, 716 Mississippi St., Donaldsonville, LA 70346.
