Psalm 23:4\n\nLyonel Batiste, native and resident of Vacherie, Louisiana, entered his eternal rest peacefully on January 9, 2023 at the age of 73. Lyonel was one of 11 children blessing the union of Robert and Mary Batiste.\n\nHe accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Highway Baptist Church by the late Pastor James Trench Sr. After which he put on the whole armor of God and join the battlefield. He served faithfully as a deacon. Lyonel was a sweet, dedicated, caring, and loving servant of God. Lyonel loved his family and believed that with God, all things were possible. He believed that we should love our sisters and brothers unconditionally.\n\nLyonel leaves to cherish his memories, 4 sons Marvin (Erica), Paunel, Terris and Quinten, 2 daughters Ja'Niya and Tamia Batiste, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Lyonel and his late wife Nancy helped to raise 2 granddaughters, as their own. He also cherishes his memory 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Brown Batiste, parents Mary and Robert Batiste, and 2 brothers: Herman Batiste and Earl Batiste, also 1 sister: Odessa Nathan.\n\nA celebration of life honoring Lyonel Batiste will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Highway Baptist Church, 1185 Magnolia Heights Street, Vacherie, LA 70090. Rev. Nathaniel Rapp officiating. Visitation begins at 9 AM and the service will begin at 11 AM. Interment to follow at New Horizon Baptist Church Cemetery.
