Mc Bridges Obituary (1943 - 2022)

MC Bridges entered eternal rest on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the age of 78. He retired from General Motors after working for 31 years as a machine repairman. He was a native of Tylertown, MS. In 1968, MC moved his family to Pontiac, Michigan. Upon his retirement in 1999, MC and Gloria returned to New Orleans to reunite with family and friends. He was a member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. His memories will be kept in the hearts of his beloved wife, partner, and helpmate, Gloria Rebecca Jack; sons, Kirk Michael Bridges, Sr., Keith Swift (Darlene); grandchildren, Kirk Michael Bridges, Jr. (Danielle), D'Vontae Hunter, Brandon Hunter; sisters, Odeal Simmons, Dr. Mary Francis Bridges, Ladora Bridges; brothers, Ray Charles Bridges, Williester Bridges (Elander), Wallace Bridges (Pricilla), Willis Bridges (Annett); a host of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sim and Vera Bridges; sister, Bernice Bridges Culver; brothers, CM Bridges and JW Bridges (Marge). Pastors of neighboring churches as well as officers and members of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 6223 Sixth Avenue, Marrero, La 70052. Pastor Edward Joseph, III, officiating. Visitation from 8am -10am. The Celebration of Life begins promptly for 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Restlawn Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3540 US-90 Avondale, LA 70094.
