Norcise Hayes

Norcise Jernell Matthew Hayes, affectionally known as “Nunky” by his family and “Nell” by his friends, departed this life peacefully in his sleep at home in Lutcher, LA on February 8, 2025. He was born September 23, 1975, in New Orleans, LA. He is the eldest born to the union of Willie Hayes, Jr. and Patricia Jones. He is a native of New Orleans and resident of Lutcher, LA.

Norcise worked as a plant lineman at Millennium Galvanizing where he was a dedicated employee. He was very reliable and dependable; always willing to show up whenever needed. This same strong work ethic was also displayed at his previous places of employment, A. J.’s Produce and Brown’s Dairy.

Norcise was an avid San Francisco 49ers football fan and enjoyed watching his favorite team play every chance he got. Besides his love for the San Francisco 49ers was his love for family. Family was his greatest joy, so he would make a point to participating in special family gatherings.

Norcise leaves to cherish his loving memories, Daron Edison Wiggins; parents: Willie Hayes, Jr. (Daisy) and Patricia Jones (Dennis, Sr.); his loving fiancé: Demetrious “Toodie” Kenard; sisters: Sabrina Sanders (Ronald) of Houston, TX and Kizzy Hayes-Powell (Don); brother: Derwin Hayes (Germaine) of Houston, TX; nephews: Corey Simms, Jr and Kolby Simms (Godchild); and a host of other bonus siblings, uncles, aunts, great aunts, Godbrother and God Sisters, other family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a community gathering on Saturday, February 22, 2025 for 10am at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052. Visitation for 9am. Burial will be private. Final care entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy., Gramercy, LA 70052.
