ROMALIS "Poppanoon" DORRIS Sr. Obituary (1936 - 2016)

Dorris, Sr. Romalis (Poppa Noonie) Romalis "Poppa Noonie" Dorris, Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the age of 80 years old. He was a resident of the Southeast LA War Veterans Home, Reserve, Louisiana and lifelong resident of Wallace, Louisiana. Son of the late Bernice Edgar Dorris and Bejamin Dorris. Romalis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine Adams Dorris, and one grandson, Charles Oatis, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories his seven children: Romalis Jr. (Cheryl) Dorris, Veda (Kim) Bailey, Aronious (Jane) Dorris, Theadora Dorris, Rolinda (Charles) Oatis, Julius (Trina) Dorris, and Dishawn (John) Edwards. Three sisters, Peggy Lewis, Shirley Jagers, and Martha (Merlin) Alexis. 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 11:00am at St. Philip Catholic Church 1175 La.18, Vacherie, La. Fr. Reuben Dykes celebrant. Interment will be at St. Philip Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation from 9:00am until service time. Service entrusted to Treasures of Life Center for Life Funeral Services 315 E. Airline Hwy Gramercy, La.
