RONNIE PAUL JOSEPH Obituary (2017)

A time to be born-On January 30, 1977, God allowed one of His best to be born into this world, through the vessels of Ronnie and Vanessa Joseph. Ronnie, also known as Joey, was baptized at an early age, by the late Rev. L.R. Garrett, Sr., here at First Baptist Church. His foundation was laid here, and he actively participated in numerous ministries within the church. Never one to quote the Bible, but ever willing to help whomever he could, with a genuine smile and a word or two of encouragement, his life was a light. A time to live-God, family, music and sports were Joey's passions. God has always taken care of him, beginning with who He chose for parents. He soon became a big brother and protector to a little sister, Squirt. He knew where his strength came from and, to Joey, family was everything. Ronnie was blessed with three sons, Caleb Anthony, Caden Kristofer, and Braylon Myles. To see them is to see him. He is ever present in each of his children. Music was his refuge. It was like he was transcended into another world as he listened to the melodies. An all-around athlete, Joey not only loved playing a myriad of sports, he also found joy in helping younger and aspiring athletes learn various sports. Education was a major platform at home and his appreciation of it developed in high school. Ronnie is a 1995 graduate of McKinley High School. Ronnie's family at McKinley High School afforded him a bond that is not easily described using words. The love he had his classmates, his friends, his teachers and leaders from McKinley could be witnessed by any who dared to listen and seen in his never-ending Panther pride. On June 14, 2014, Ronnie married Christine Leatherman, in Baton Rouge, La. They enjoyed going to support their McKinley High Panthers' football and basketball teams. They loved to travel. Ronnie enjoyed watching the Star Team, "Dallas Cowboys". A time to die- On Tuesday, April 11, 2017, God saw fit to take His child back home to be with Him. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Christine L. Joseph; parents, Ronnie and Vanessa Joseph; grandmothers, Ann Hall and Emily Williams; three sons, Caleb Anthony and Caden Kristofer Joseph, Missouri City, Texas, and Braylon Myles Joseph, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sister, E. Michelle Joseph, nieces, Najila McGee, Nia McGee, nephew, David Joseph, and a host of other family and friends. With Ronnie, to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11:00AM from First Baptist Church, 1244 Magnolia Heights St, Vacherie, LA 70090, Pastor Johnnie B. Magee, Jr. Th.D.
