Rosa Lee Priestley Obituary (1952 - 2017)

On Wednesday, December 27, 2017, our beloved Rosa Lee Priestley, quietly transitioned from her earthly home. She was surrounded by her loving family as she had been during her last few months of her life. Rosa Lee was a dedicated employee of Graugnard Farms for many years. She was a loving and supportive mother to Darnell, Lafonte, Leandra and the late Lawrence Priestley. She loved drinking coffee, talking on the phone, dancing, playing cards, and watching Family Feud; but most of all playing bingo with her friend, Carmen Gloster Batiste, and cousin, Christine Nelson Perrilloux. She was a kind person with a beautiful smile that had a way of brightening your day. Rosa Lee was the second of eight children born to the late Evelina Champagne and Lawrence Priestley on April 1, 1952. She was raised on Bessie K and lived in Vacherie, La. She leaves a legacy of love to cherish her precious memories, children, Darnell, Lafonte, and Leandra, sisters, Beverly Priestley, Joyce (Rodney) Perry, Brenda Brown, Stella Mae Bright; brothers, Stevenson, Sr., and Felton Champagne, Jerome, Milton, and Anthony Priestley, grandchildren, Lavon Jones, Tashada Young, Tay'Lon, London, Jadun, and Lynx Priestley, great grandchildren, Taysha Young, and Damyan Brown, one godchild, Troy Bright, devoted friends, Carmen Gloster Batiste, Anita Roberson, Elaine Sterling, Verna Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Priestley, parents, Evelina Champagne and Lawrence Priestley, and nephew, Jason Priestley. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from St. James Catholic Church, 6613 LA-18, St. James, LA 70086 for 11:00AM. Viewing from 9;00AM until service time.
