Shandreika Ann Shorty, affectionately known as “Dreika” passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026 at the age of 43. Born on July 24, 1983 in Lutcher, Louisiana, she was a beacon of light and love in this world.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marva Dean Shorty; father, Sam Thomas and nephew, Deidrick Green, Jr.

Shandreika is survived by brothers: Andrew (Erica) Cola, Jr. and Damaris (Falana) Brown, Sr.; sisters: Cherelene (Lester) Hills, Wendy (Albert) Price, Denessa Cola, Samantha (Lionel) Weston, and Kioandra Washington.

Shandreika touched the lives of many and her beautiful spirit will be deeply missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 6476 La 44, Convent, LA. Visitation 9:00AM to 11:00AM followed by the Mass for 11:00 AM. Deacon Alfred Adams, Officiant. Interment St. Michael Catholic Church Cemetery, Convent, LA.
