Shanta Jackson Obituary (1981 - 2018)

Shanta Jackson was called to glory on the 11th of August 2018 at the young age of 36 years old in Houston, Texas. Shanta was a magnificent spirit with a heart of gold. She was the embodiment of kindness and peace. She encouraged determination and hope to her family and friends. She was an attentive person who valued and cherished every single person she had in her life. With a bright smile and face of joy she was the definition of fun. She pushed family and friends to think harder, laugh louder and live their lives like they could only do it once. She blessed this world with her entrance on December 15th, 1981, the youngest of three daughters. She was always the center of the family and the heart at the center of their lives. As time went on she then stumbled upon her second family that she never knew she needed. The place she calls a second home, John McDonald High school. Shanta Jackson was a proud Trojan and that pride and love for her school, community, and classmates had continued to flourish in her ever since. She also acquired a love for cosmetology, music, and her incomparable New Orleans Saints. With determination she dedicated herself to be the best mother she possibly could to her children she nicknamed "The magnificent 5". Shanta had an abundance of love to give with a familiar smile she was always there to lend a helping hand. Shanta was the life of the party, the shoulder to cry on, the voice of reason and pillar of togetherness, a vision of light, a mother, a sister, a friend, a daughter, a classmate, and a woman truly blessed by all that knew her. She leaves to cherish and value her memory five children, Jasmine, Sean, and Shainell Jackson, Cedric Jr., and Anastasia Williams. She also leaves her mother, Dianne Jackson, her two sisters, Melinda and Diana Jackson, her brother, Cedric Henry and her fiance Quintel Edwards along with her "teedy babies" which consists of 2 nieces and 4 nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Jackson.
