On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, God, in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to call his beloved daughter, Stella Mae Jacques Jones, to her eternal resting place. Stella was born on September 28, 1932, in Convent, LA to the late Robert and Lillie Jacques. She was the third of nine children. She married her husband of 49 years, Milton Jones, and to this union four children were born--three daughters and one son (deceased). Stella was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church all her life. \n\nShe was a homemaker who loved to decorate, especially for the holidays. She was a great cook and whenever anyone stopped by, she had something good to eat and was always ready to share. At every family gathering she loved to make her delicious creamy pralines (pecan candy) or her jambalaya.\n\nStella leaves to cherish her beautiful memories her three daughters, Lorraine Oubre (Clinton) of Vacherie, LA, Rhonda Jefferson (Michael) of Baton Rouge, LA, Angela Lewis (Gabriel), Katy, Tx and one special daughter Kylie Bourgeois Barnes (Charles), Prairieville, LA; five grandsons and two special granddaughters--Damon Oubre \n(Danielle) of Katy, Tx, Justin Jefferson (Meagan) of Baton Rouge, LA, Joshua Jefferson of New Orleans, LA, Kaylor Lewis and Kolbi Lewis of Katy, Tx, Imani Clark and Kaitlyn Barnes of Prairieville, LA; six great-grandchildren, Chance Oubre Thomas of New Orleans, LA, Dean M. Oubre and Dayne Oubre of Katy, Tx, Mikel J. Jefferson, Milton J. Jefferson, and Joi Mae Jefferson of Baton Rouge, LA.\n\nShe is survived by three sisters, Geraldine LeBoeuf and Eloise Banks of Convent, LA, and Jacqueline Goodwin (Paul) of Gonzales, LA; three brothers, Norman Jacques of Los Angeles, CA, Michael Jacques of Convent, LA, and Gralyn Jacques of New Orleans, LA; Godchildren, Sheila L Jones, Cornell Steptore, Robert Jacques, Jr, and Steven Ellis, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Milton P Jones, Sr.; son, Milton P Jones, Jr.; parents, Robert and Lillie Jacques; brother, Robert Jacques, Jr.; sister, Annabell Donald, and Godchild, Kevin Donald. \n\n A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 6484 LA-44, Convent, LA 70723 at 11am. Visitation period 10am-11am. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church Cemetery.
