Sometimes it’s hard to understand why somethings must be but in His infinite wisdom God has planned beyond our powers to see.\n\nSis. Sylvia Perrilloux McLaurin of La Place, Louisiana entered eternal rest with her husband by her bedside, on April 24, 2023, at Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson, Louisiana. She was born on April 14, 1954, in Reserve. La, to the late Joseph Luma and Ella Mae Perrilloux.\n\nSylvia was a pillar of strength and courage for her family, friends, and all who knew her. She loved the Lord and gave fully to Him through the services she rendered and to the life she lived. Sylvia accepted Jesus as her personal Savior, and she initiated a prayer warriors’ group to help strengthen herself and others. Because the joy of the Lord was her strength.\n\nMelvin Bernard McLaurin was united in marriage to Sylvia Perrilloux on July 25,1981. From that union three children were born. The late RaShaun DeMichael McLaurin, Melvin Bernard McLaurin Jr. (Monique), and Christopher Michael McLaurin. Sylvia showered her children, granddaughter Alaina, and godchildren with love.\n\nShe leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband, Melvin Bernard McLaurin, Sr. whereby they shared 42 years of marriage, and two sons. Her siblings: Jerome Perrilloux (Lynelle), Bessie Perrilloux Anderson (Randolph), Paulette Perrilloux Jones (Terry) Wanda Perrilloux Giles, Gwendolyn Perrilloux Mills (Alex), the late Vanessa Perrilloux and Melvin J.\nPerrilloux, Sr. (Miranda). She is also survived by a wonderful family of nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives, church family and friends.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, father and mother- in-law James and Lola McLaurin.\n\nTo live in the hearts of those you love, is not to die. She will be sadly missed.\n\nA celebration of life honoring Sylvia P. McLaurin will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at New Wine Christian Fellowship, 1929 W. Airline Hwy., Laplace, LA 70068. Visitation will begin at 8AM until services begin at 10AM. Entombment to follow at St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery in Reserve.
