Mrs. Trina Meggs Dorris, 47, a native of Vacherie, LA entered into sweet rest on November 9, 2016 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memories her wonderful husband Julius Dorris and their beautiful daughter Ja'Naija Striggs (Kwaun), a loving sister, Meeka Dennis (Charles), her nieces and nephews that she helped reared, Shane, Camrin, Joy, Chelea, and Chuck; father, Albert Meggs, sister in laws Veda Bailey (Kim), Theodora Dorris, Rolinda Oatis (Charles), Dishawn Edwards (John), brother in laws Romalis Dorris Jr (Cheryl), Aronious Dorris (Jane), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Brenda Joseph Meggs, sister Shanell Meggs, grandmothers Juanita J. Stewart and Francis Plant Meggs, grandfathers, Howard Joseph, Sr., Rev. Joshua Stewart, and Warren Meggs, Sr., aunts, Linda Jones, Patricia Roberts, and Bernice Meggs; uncle Howard Joseph, Jr. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 for 11a.m. at Destiny Christian Center, 612 Main St. Laplace, LA 70068, Pastor Steve O. Allen officiating. Burial at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Vacherie, LA. 70090.
