Victoria "Helen" "Big Momma" Davis passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at her home in Marrero, LA., surrounded by her family. She was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA with an interim residence in Los Angeles, CA. Helen is survived by one daughter, Barbara Mott, one son, Lawrence Davis (Eileen) of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Monita Bush, Charlotte Martin, Michael and Stanley Bush and Tammy, Larry and Keisha Davis of Los Angeles, CA., as well as twenty-eight great grandchildren who loved her dearly. Three of them, Devin, Dorian and Leah, lit up her life. Also survived by sisters, Essie Mae Lemieux, and Odeal Narcisse, and brother, Pleasant H. Stewart Jr., and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Davis, parents, Pleasant Sr. and Louisa Francis Stewart; five sisters, Elizabeth Trench, Olivia Lee, Barbara Johnson, Mildred Narcisse and Rosalie Hickerson, brothers, Wallace, Webster, Newman, Wilbert, Vice, Brown and Felton Stewart and a host of other relatives. Members of the following churches are invited to share with the family during these trying times; Morning Star Baptist Church, King David, Mount Zion Baptist Church, St. Mary Baptist Church, Second Highway Baptist Church, Greater Zion Field Baptist Church, Star of Bethel Baptist Church, Highway Baptist Church, New Horizon Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Vacherie. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM from Morning Star Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero LA., Rev. Thomas Brown officiating. Visitation after 8:00 am. Final viewing prior to start of service. An additional brief visitation will be held at Highway Baptist Church 1185 Magnolia Heights; Rev. Wesley Brown, Pastor. Burial will be held in Highway Baptist Church Cemetery, Vacherie, LA.
